Mountain State Attorneys was born out of an understanding and acknowledgement that the hundreds of years’ old law firm business model, and mode and manner of connecting with clients, as well as the manner in which clients’ core needs, desires, and objectives are identified, understood, and pursued – does NOT fit the world, economy, and human lives of today. And, it is our mission and objective to disrupt this with new and modern approaches, for our clients’ sakes.

Next, we go to work researching, desiging, and building a highly strategic approach to actually address and solve your worries, issues, and concerns, as well as any CORE underlying (broader) issues and concerns that we helped you identify in the initial phase.
Execution
Finally, in cooperation with you, we execute the highly strategic approach and plan identified in phase two. Additionally, throughout execution, and with your aid and assistance – we assess and re-assess the relevant landscape and any change in circumstances, and we then re-strategize regarding how to handle any change in circumstances.
About Mountain State Attorneys
Mountain State Attorneys is our dba for AVantGarde Law, LLC. “Avantgarde” means: on the cutting edge, or a new and better approach. The experience of the attorneys at Mountain State Attorneys, proves that the business model that law firms have used for hundreds of years—is severely outmoded and is a horrible fit for modern clients.
AVantGarde Law is built, from the ground up, to remedy many of the problems that have historically plagued the attorney-client relationship. Almost more importantly, we actively pursue fixing the relationship between law firms and their attorneys – because, these problems have directly fed the problems with the usual and traditional attorney-client relationship.
AVantGarde Law was founded by Joshua R. Kotter who, in addition to holding his J.D. and B.A. degrees from prestigious and top ranked universities – received his MBA degree from a top 30 world-wide MBA program (according to The London Financial Times). Furthermore, Joshua graduated in the top 5% of his graduate school class, resulting in his admission to the exclusive and prestigious honor and ranks of Beta Gamma Sigma. Intermingled with his years of legal practice, Joshua previously worked as a CEO and in other C-Suite executive roles, for many years and at several hospital and healthcare organizations.
The concept and focus of Mountain State Attorneys was born through Joshua’s background, experience, education, and training in the corporate, business, and healthcare world. Sadly, the vast majority of attorneys are horribly poor business people. In turn, this results in very poorly run law firms. Mountain State Attorneys is meant to combat this tradition by actively seeking new and better ways to serve clients.
Through technology implementation, competitive legal service models, improvement of attorney work-life balance and satisfaction, and by discarding outmoded processes and systems, unnecessary operating expenses, internal greed, and zero-sum advancement competition – Mountain State Attorneys seeks to be and always be becoming the most sought after legal provider. Central to this, is our CORE BELIEF that treating highly competent professionals right, incentivizing them in the most ethical ways, and servicing clients in a manner consistent with the modern world – will tremendously translate into happier and better served clients.
